IKOEX is Proudly Promoting Content-Powered Analytics

Buzz from Members of The ETTC

I took a look at the IKOEX web site and there is a synergy with the way I think about EA and the work I am trying to achieve with my current employer. The key point I saw on one of the pages was a quote along the lines of the question we should be asking is not what data we need but what decisons do we need to make. Ironically, I was at a seminar on Microsoft's FAST enterprise search engine a few weeks ago and the question was posed to the attendees how woul you sell enterprise search to a C level exec. My response was it gives you the information you need to make the decisions you need to make - talking about relevancy, ranking, and accuracy of search results is irrelevant if it doesn't help you make a decision. As you note my background is in Financial Services but I am currently working as the architect for a law firm. As you would imagine, questions around BI, BPM, and ECM form most of my day to day now.

I really believe that these type of initiatives are an added value to both content professionals and the market. Convergence in thinking and technology of the different domains will be one of the critical success factors in a dynamic world. Especially in the services economy were unstructured processes (and thus activities and data) are the norm the greatest challenge is to increase productivity, and this can only be done by converging the different disciplines.

The Enterprise Technology Convergence Council (The ETCC) is a forward-thinking community of knowledge workers who share a passion for providing technology convergence of structured and unstructured content - that sees beyond information technology silos.  Request an invitation to The ETTC on The Enterprise Technology Convergence Council .

Most business intelligence applications to date have focused on analyses in support of decisions that have already been made. Ikoex focuses on those technologies and processes representing the new generation of BI - that is more proactive than reactive (such as merely analyzing data or reports after the fact.)  Our mission is to help you make decisions as or before events happen.
